Position Summary

Buffalo Preps College Prep program is seeking a full-time Scholar Success Manager. The Scholar Success Manager works collaboratively with the Senior Director of College Prep and Tutorial Program Manager to coordinate and administer student success programming and services. Additionally, the Scholar Success Manager provides scholars with academic and social-emotional support throughout high school and help prepare them for their post-secondary journey.

Essential Functions

  • Meet with scholars bi-monthly at assigned partner high schools.
  • Work collaboratively with the Tutorial Program Manager and the Senior Director of College Prep to assess and support scholars' academic and SEL needs.
  • Manage College Preps online application portal and review/process applications.
  • Orient new families to the College Prep program.
  • Process Fuel Fund/Lunch Fund applications for eligible scholars.
  • Manage academic referrals and work with the Tutorial Program Manager to implement appropriate support.
  • Create Academic Improvement Plans for scholars in jeopardy of failing.
  • Meet with the Tutorial Program Manager regularly to ensure execution of the plan.
  • Manage College Prep external partnerships.
  • Assist the Tutorial Program Manager with report card data entry.
  • Coordinate College Preps mentoring program by recruiting scholars and professional mentors.
  • Provide trainings and resources for mentors.
  • Work with the Senior Director of College Prep to coordinate summer programming and enrichment opportunities.
  • Responsible for the supervision and safety of scholars during College Prep programming.
  • Enforce College Prep rules and expectations.
  • Chaperone field trips, college tours, and other events as needed.
  • Provide written and oral reports for board meetings and grants as assigned by the Senior Director of College Prep.
  • Participate in staff training and professional development.
  • Have fun! We love our scholars and strive to maintain a joy-filled environment where all scholars and staff feel cared for, capable, and connected!

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree in education or related field. A Masters degree is preferred.
  • Two or more years working in an education setting with high school or college-age students.
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
