About the Position
The School-Based Behavioral Health Liaison is a crucial role within ABHS, designed to provide individual and group counseling services to children within the Jefferson County school system. This position involves placement in identified schools, covering grades Pre-K through 12. The liaison will work closely with school counselors to support students' behavioral health needs and improve overall outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities

Counseling Services: Provide individual and group counseling utilizing evidence-based practices.

Education and Training: Educate staff and families on behavioral health needs as required.

Assessment and Diagnosis: Appropriately assess and diagnose clients according to insurance requirements.

Documentation: Maintain timely intake, session, data collection, and billing documentation.

Collaboration: Work with school counselors on school needs and RTI-B tiered intervention.

Student Support: Assist with implementing regulating and coping activities for students as needed.

Coordination of Services: Coordinate referrals and additional services within and outside the school system to support student outcomes.

Program Development: Collaborate with the Executive Director to identify ongoing needs for behavioral health services and recommend appropriate programming.

Minimum Requirements

Master's degree in Social Work or a related discipline.

LCSW, Licensed School Counselor, or related licensure is preferred.

Ability to work in a high school setting with 10th-12th graders.

Experience working with diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Experience in a medical and/or clinical setting is preferred.
