A School Nurse position is available in Bangor, PA, for a contract role supporting student health and wellness during the summer session. This onsite opportunity is scheduled Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, running from July 6 to July 30. The focus is on providing preventative health services within the school setting, ensuring students remain healthy and safe while participating in school activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate student illnesses or injuries, providing first aid when necessary.
• Deliver preventive health services to promote physical, mental, emotional, and social development.
• Educate students, parents or guardians, and staff on health-related topics.
• Maintain clear communication with students and families regarding health concerns.
• Implement and document the school health program as per district guidelines.
• Foster a safe and healthy environment for all students on campus.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN or RN) in the state of Pennsylvania.
• Certification as an Educational Specialist through the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor certifications.
• 3 to 5 years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, school nursing, or a similar field.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, and reach as needed during the workday.
• Effective communication skills, including vision, hearing, and speech.
• Capacity to safely lift or carry 10 to 25 pounds.
