A School Nurse position is available for a summer contract in Bangor, PA, focused on providing preventative health services and supporting student wellness during the summer session. This onsite role operates Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, spanning July 6 through July 30.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate student illnesses and injuries, administering first aid as necessary
• Deliver preventive health services to promote students physical, mental, emotional, and social wellbeing
• Educate students, parents/guardians, and staff on relevant health issues
• Maintain clear and regular communication with students and parents/guardians concerning health matters
• Implement and manage the school health program, ensuring accurate health documentation
• Foster a safe and healthy environment conducive to student participation in school activities

Qualifications:

• Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN or RN) in Pennsylvania
• Certification as an Educational Specialist from the Pennsylvania Department of Education
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Current Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor certifications
• 3 to 5 years of nursing experience preferred, ideally in pediatrics, school nursing, or related disciplines

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, and reach throughout the workday
• Effective communication abilities, including vision, hearing, and speech
• Capability to safely lift or carry 10 to 25 pounds
• Mobility to independently navigate school buildings and event locations
