Job Title: Scientific Application Cloud Engineer (Junior Level)
Location: Cambridge, MA (Hybrid 3 days onsite per week)
Pay Rate: $35 $37/hr on W2
We are seeking a Junior Scientific Application Cloud Engineer with 2 3 years of experience to help design, deploy, and maintain cloud-based applications and infrastructure. You will collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to build and manage scalable, reliable, and secure solutions across AWS and Azure environments.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, eager to learn, and comfortable working across both application-level and infrastructure-level engineering tasks, with exposure to automation and CI/CD pipelines.
Key Responsibilities-
Assist in designing, building, and maintaining cloud-based applications and infrastructure using AWS and Azure.

Support development teams in deploying, scaling, and monitoring microservices and serverless applications.

Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementation using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.

Help develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.

Monitor cloud applications and troubleshoot performance or reliability issues.

Collaborate with security and compliance teams to follow cloud governance and best practices.

Support efforts to optimize cost, performance, and reliability across cloud environments.

Automate operational tasks through scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).

Participate in on-call rotations and incident response as needed.
Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

2 3 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Software Infrastructure roles.

Prior exposure to Pharma/Biotech scientific applications preferred.

Proficiency with AWS (some Azure experience is a plus).

Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, AKS, or GKE).

Good understanding of networking, load balancing, and cloud security fundamentals.

Basic knowledge of CI/CD, Git, and automation tools.

Strong problem-solving skills and collaborative mindset.
Preferred:

Experience supporting scientific applications in a Pharma/Biotech environment.

Cloud certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate).

Understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and modern cloud architectures.

Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Strong communication and documentation abilities.

Analytical and detail-oriented approach.

Ability to work both independently and in team settings.

Note: This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week onsite in Cambridge, MA.
