Job Description
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A demanding role is available for skilled Surgical Technologist First Assistants possessing NBSTSA certification. This position requires expertise in assisting surgeons directly during procedures and supporting the multidisciplinary team in all phases of patient care surrounding surgery.
Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on assistance to surgeons under direct supervision throughout surgical procedures.
- Support nurses, anesthesiologists, and CRNAs in delivering preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.
- Apply knowledge of sterile technique, human anatomy, and surgical technologies to ensure operative success.
- Participate in on-call rotations including some weekends to ensure continuous surgical assistance.
- Adapt to scheduling needs including potential 4-day, 10-hour shifts or standard 5-day, 8-hour shifts.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited surgical assisting program.
- Certification as a First Assistant through the NBSTSA.
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) status.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum of 3 years of surgical assisting experience.
- Ability to disclose all relevant licenses at the time of application.
