The role supports the healthcare team in delivering safe, culturally sensitive, and age-appropriate care during moderate to high acuity surgical cases. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operative suite and sterile field to ensure patient safety.
• Set up and organize surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to procedure-specific needs.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and maintaining an efficient surgical workflow.
• Perform surgical counts and participate in procedure time-outs and post-procedure protocols.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and support quality improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot instruments and equipment, ensuring readiness for surgical procedures.
• Assist with inventory management, ordering, and stocking of surgical supplies.
• Mentor and train new staff or students, fostering professional development.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent national certification.
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support) required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of surgical procedures and the ability to work in moderate to high acuity cases.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel).
