Quality Engineering & AutomationDesign, implement, and maintain automated testing across:Unit testing (familiarity with SonarQube required)API and integration testing (Karate framework testing)Load and performance testing (familiarity with Gatling required)End-to-end workflow testing (familiarity with Playwright required)Increase automation coverage toward organizational targets (85–95%).Integrate automated tests directly into CI/CD pipelines.Establish reusable automation standards across platform services.2. Platform Quality Ownership & TestingSupport quality assurance across major Ninth Wave components.Responsibilities include:Identifying testing gaps across microservices.Ensuring consistent quality gates prior to deployment.Validating complex data flows between upstream banks and downstream partners.Perform functional, regression, performance, and security testing using both manual and automated methods.Leverage AI-enabled QA tools (e.g., automated test generation, defect prediction, intelligent regression testing) to speed up coverage and reduce defects.Validate third-party connectivity, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., OFX, FDX, OAuth2, OIDC).3. Incident Prevention & ReliabilityParticipate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations.Convert production incidents into automated regression tests.Prevent recurrence of issues such as:Duplicate submission conflicts (HTTP 409)Bank feed synchronization failures (HTTP 103)Batch processing blocksToken lifecycle or authentication failuresPartner with Engineering and Support to improve operational stability.4. CI/CD Quality GovernanceDefine and enforce quality gates aligned with daily deployment goals.Monitor automated test execution within pipelines.Establish measurable release-readiness criteria.Promote shift-left testing practices across engineering teams.5. ReportingProduce coverage dashboards and testing metrics for leadership.Track:Automation coverageDefect escape ratesRegression effectivenessPerformance baselinesImprove transparency of quality status across the organization.6. Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with:Engineering teamsPlatform onboarding teamsProduct managementClient support & operationsAdvocate for testability during system design discussions.Work with developers on automated testing best practices.Required Qualifications5+ years' experience in Software QA, Quality Engineering, or SDET roles.Strong experience testing distributed or microservice architectures.Hands-on automation experience with:API testing frameworks (Karate, REST Assured, Postman automation)UI automation tools (Playwright, Selenium)Performance testing tools (Gatling, JMeter)Experience working in CI/CD environments (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, similar).Understanding of REST APIs, authentication flows, and data integrations.Hands on experience with SQL and database queriesExperience analyzing production incidents and driving corrective actions.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience in fintech, banking integrations, or data aggregation platforms.Familiarity with:FDX or OFX standardsOAuth/token-based authenticationFinancial reconciliation workflowsExposure to AI-enabled QA tools a plus (willingness to learn is required)Exposure to third party applications: Intuit's QBD/QBO, NetSuite, Sage, Plaid, Xero.
