$55,000 to $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications

JobSummary - The Curriculum Coordinator at Island Pacific Academy plays a crucial role in advancing the school's mission by collaborating closely with the secondary principal and administration. The primary responsibility is to provide curricular and instructional leadership that aligns with best instructional design principles, educational standards, technology innovation, and overall school objectives. This role encompasses a variety of tasks and responsibilities aimed at enhancing the educational experience and progress for students, meeting standardized test goals, and supporting the professional development and effectiveness of staff. The curriculum coordinator reports directly to the secondary principal.

Performance Responsibilities :

Manage curriculum resources, including textbooks, digital material and supplementary resources, ensuring their relevance and accessibility to support effective teaching and learning; collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify and acquire necessary resources to enhance the curriculum.

Develop and implement assessment strategies and tools to measure student progress and the effectiveness of the curriculum; analyze assessment data to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address learning gaps or modify curriculum content accordingly.

Mentor, coach and role model effective instructional practices and strategies.

Collaboratively work with the Educational Technology Specialist and technology department to vett and recommend new technology platforms and professional development opportunities for teachers and staff to enhance instructional practice and increase learner outcomes. .

Works collaboratively with administration to identify and coordinate professional development opportunities for teachers and staff growth.

Assist in the development and management of department budgets and the administration of federal title grant monies.

Work collaboratively with the secondary administration team and all appropriate stakeholders to compose, review and revise communications, publications, and self studies to ensure curricular alignment and effectiveness.

Assists with the preparation of new course offerings, course catalogs and assists the registrar and teachers with the registration process.

Stay updated on current educational trends, best practices, policies, regulations, and accreditation standards to ensure curriculum compliance and effectiveness..

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills

Minimum Bachelor's Degree or higher in educational degree in curriculum and instruction or closely related field.

Minimum 5 years teaching successful experience in secondary education

Successful experience as a department chair or comparable leadership experience

Successful experience as an instructional coach or similar experience

Strong analytical skills to examine student data and make curriculum and instructional recommendations

Demonstrated growth mindset, creativity and understanding of the design thinking process

Strong technology skills and knowledge of current educational technology platforms, educational technology best practices and current trends

Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills

Education:

4 Year Degree
