Summary of Work

As the Section Supervisor Foreman, you will be supervising the Bismarck District headquarters section supervisors. This position is responsible for all administrative tasks related to work operations, personnel, equipment, and materials. This position sets priorities and reviews the performance of the section supervisors in Bismarck.

Lead Bismarck Section Supervisor/Foreman Duties:

  • Coordination, scheduling, resourcing both employee and tangible resources for all employees in the Bismarck section.
  • Oversee multiple section supervisors by setting priorities, verify quality of work operations, approve supervisors plans and priorities.

Building and Grounds Maintenance:

  • Maintain section buildings and yard, salt storage buildings, and equipment storage buildings.
  • Direct Brine facility production, hauling operations, and materials inventory.

Communication:

  • Communicate between the section employees, district shop employees, other sections, and district management.
  • Help draft press releases for Bismarck/Mandan roadway operations.

Environmental duties:

  • Develop and maintain environmental documents for all section facilities.

Highway Construction Duties:

  • Coordinate section operations with contracted construction project schedules.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED and seven years of highway-related maintenance, construction, or transportation services work experience; two years of the experience must have included supervision duties.
  • College-level coursework in engineering, heavy equipment operation, highway maintenance, or closely related field may substitute for the work experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Valid Class A drivers license or Class B drivers license by the first day of work.
  • Requires work after hours, on weekends, and holidays during emergency events. Will be at times required to report to work within 30 minutes during emergency or storm situations.

Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and the required drug test, medical screening, reference check, and driving records check.
