About the Job:
The Aviation Security & Public Safety department is looking for a Security & Public Safety Analyst I to play a key role in support of contractual activities and continuous improvement of airport infrastructure and safety practices. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting safety, security, and compliance efforts by coordinating daily security measures and public safety initiatives, with particular focus on compliance, enforcement efforts, overseeing commercial vehicle activities and traffic management alongside the Landside Operations teams. They will bring expertise in conducting security, public safety and other infrastructure assessments and will leverage their strong relationship skills and problem solving and critical thinking skills to collaborate with internal and external partners.
What You’ll Do:
- Security and Emergency Coordination: Coordinates daily security, public safety, and landside operations to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; manages security access, emergency plans, and crisis response for incidents like breaches, evacuations, medical emergencies, and irregular operations.
- Regulatory Compliance and Expertise: Interprets regulations and mandates, serves as a subject matter expert, conducts security and safety assessments and outreach, and presents safety programs to various groups and committees. Creates and presents presentations on security, safety, and landside operations programs to groups, committees, participates in the procurement selection processes, and other initiatives
- Stakeholder Collaboration and Enforcement: Builds partnerships with stakeholders, resolves issues and enforces regulations. Cites for violations and recommends remedial actions. Oversees contractual activities and supports program implementation.
- Program Development and Industry Advancement: Develops and streamlines programs, reports, budgets, and infrastructure while staying current with industry trends and performing other assigned duties.
- Vehicle Operation: Regularly operate and drive an Authority vehicle to conduct field assessments and inspections throughout the Authority campus.

Requirements
The Experience You Need to Have**:
- Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in aviation management, public administration, security or emergency management, or a closely related field;
- One year of progressively responsible administrative and/or programmatic experience in aviation security and/or emergency preparedness;
- Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Licenses, Certificates, and Special Requirements:
- Successful completion of a fingerprint-based background investigation, training, and testing required for employment and operation of Authority and San Diego County physical security, surveillance, radio, and telecommunications equipment.
- A valid California Class “C” driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Authority's Vehicle Insurance Policy.
Preferred Education, Certification, and Licenses:
- AAAE CM or AAE, ACE Security, or ACE Airside Operations, Traffic Control Certification
