Summary of Position
The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of our hotel guests, colleagues, and property by patrolling the grounds, monitoring security cameras or investigating guest or employee incidents.
Roles and Responsibilities
Core functions of the position, but are not limited to the following;- Conduct regular patrols to monitor premises.
- Ensure adherence to security protocols and standards
- Escorting guests and colleagues to and from the hotel or parking structure
- Expected to maintain order among the different groups of guests during conference meetings or events.
- Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies.
- Collaborate with hotel colleagues to maintain a seamless guest experience.
- Conduct thorough investigations when required.
- Report all suspicious activity to their supervisors or hotel management.
- Report current events in real time through their radio and document events that have already been resolved or need additional attention
- Be on call anytime during their shift to investigate disturbances reported by hotel staff and guests. This can include things like excess noise coming from a guest’s room or reports of suspicious people prowling the parking lot.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in hotel or upscale venue security
- Trained in first aid best practices and stay up to date with current standards and CPR Training
- Excellent Communication skills – speaking and writing clearly is essential for the hotel security job.
- Confidentiality – hotel security must maintain a level of professionalism and confidentiality on all matters.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and other security technologies
- Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Active listening skills
Physical Requirements
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours or more).
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling moderate weights as required.
- Agility and flexibility for quick and effective response to incidents.
