We are seeking a skilled and experience Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager to lead our team in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents and threats within our telecommunication infrastructure. The SOC Manager will play a critical role in enhancing our security posture, ensuring the continuous protection of our assets and the integrity of our services.

The SOC Manager will oversee the responsibilities of their team and be proactive in safeguarding the company's information. In addition, the job responsibilities entail:

  • SOC Operations Management: Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Security Operations Center (SOC), including monitoring security alerts, analyzing incidents, and coordinating response activities to mitigate threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Incident Response Leadership: Establish and maintain incident response processes and procedures to effectively identify, assess, and respond to security incidents in accordance with established protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Threat Detection and Analysis: Utilize advanced security monitoring tools, threat intelligence feeds, and data analytics techniques to proactively detect and analyze security threats, anomalies, and trends across our telecommunications networks and systems.
  • Security Incident Investigation: Lead and coordinate the investigation of security incidents and breaches, including root cause analysis, forensic analysis, and evidence collection, to identify the scope and impact of security incidents and support remediation efforts.
  • Security Incident Reporting: Prepare and disseminate timely and accurate reports on security incidents, threats, and vulnerabilities to senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities as required by internal policies and industry regulations.
  • Team Development and Training: Recruit, train, and mentor SOC analysts and engineers to build a high-performing and knowledgeable team capable of effectively responding to security incidents and adapting to emerging threats and technologies.
  • Security Tool Management: Evaluate, deploy, and manage security monitoring and incident response tools, including SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, threat intelligence platforms, and endpoint detection and response solutions, to support SOC operations and enhance threat visibility.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster collaboration and communication with cross-functional teams, including IT operations, network engineering, and cybersecurity teams, to ensure alignment on security goals, initiatives, and incident response efforts.
  • Plan, develop, and conduct annual cybersecurity training: Enhance employee understanding of cybersecurity principles, policies, and best practices. Stay informed about the latest developments in the field of cybersecurity to ensure that the training content and promote a culture of cybersecurity awareness across the organization.

Candidates must show:

  • Ability to promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.
  • Product/Service knowledge: Remains up to date on the latest services and products we provide and has a clear understanding of how each work. Working knowledge of telecom network offerings such as Ethernet, TDM, DSL and Wireless access providers also required.
  • Customer centric: Puts the customer first and creates a positive experience for the customer by building relationships and maximizing service/product offerings. Stays current with knowledge of products clients require and can foresee their future technology needs
  • Accountability: Punctual and dependable to meet the needs of our customers. Has the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Has the ability to assess an issue, provide creative solutions, and analyze if the solution was viable.
  • Organizational support: Ability to follow company policies and procedures in accordance with contract/agreement(s) and Company Goals, completes administrative tasks thoroughly, accurately, promptly, and efficiently as possible with respect to human resources, financial management and profitability.
  • Technical skills: Constantly strives to increase technical knowledge to improve training tools through latest product knowledge, industry knowledge, and research.

This is what you need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, with a focus on managing Security Operations Centers (SOCs) in the telecommunications or network security industry
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications systems, protocols, and technologies, including IP networks, mobile networks, and cloud services
  • Hands-on experience with security monitoring tools and technologies, such as SIEM platforms, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint security solutions, and log management systems.
  • Proficiency in incident response methodologies, including incident triage, escalation, containment, eradication, and recovery procedures
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards governing the telecommunications sector, such as FCC regulations, GDPR, PCI DSS, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of SOC analysts and engineers
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • CCNA and Security+ Certifications
