We are seeking an experienced Electronic Security Systems Technician to join our federal team supporting the Fort Sam Houston / Camp Bullis in San Antonio, TX. This role may help support some other bases in the nearby region as well, at times. Our team is responsible for the maintenance, service, and sustainment of the Electronic Security Systems across the bases, primarily working with Lenel and Milestone systems.
Location
Fort Sam Houston / Camp Bullis, San Antonio, TX. May help support some other bases in the area at times, but primary work is at Fort Sam Houston.
Schedule
Primarily day shift (roughly 8:00am – 4:00pm), Monday‑Friday.
Pay
$28.00 – $38.00 per hour. Negotiable based on experience.
Relocation
Potential assistance may be available.

3 weeks of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays, and 10 standard holidays per calendar year (approximately 6.5 weeks in total).
Travel
10‑20%, mostly local travel.
Responsibilities
Conduct maintenance and service work of existing Electronic Security Systems (ESS), including access controls, intrusion detection, and camera systems; primarily Lenel and Vindicator systems.
Install security devices and infrastructure according to the installation plan and applicable codes and guidelines.
Assist with security system programming and setup.
Perform testing to ensure proper operation of equipment after installation or repairs.
Conduct system testing at the signal‑receiving center to establish service.
Coordinate installations with police/fire departments and manage necessary records for emergency notification.
Prepare estimates per supervisor instructions.
Provide end‑user training.
Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of materials, and clean up installation debris.
Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
Experience installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial and/or industrial integrated/electronic security systems for low‑voltage intrusion, access control, CCTV, and digital recording systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Capable of using hand and power tools to mount and secure equipment, including the ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
Works well unsupervised and as part of a team environment.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Department of Defense Secret clearance (or one that was active within the last 2 years).
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency working with Lenel, Vindicator, or Linx Predator Elite.
Technical proficiency working with fiber and networks.
Proficiency working with a variety of commercial and/or industrial camera systems, preferably Lenel, Advantor, and others.
Preferred Education
Lenel certified.
