Pay: £85.00 – £95.00 per day Job description: About the Role We are seeking a committed and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join our secondary school team. This is a full-time position supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers, the SENDCo, and pastoral staff to ensure students with additional needs are fully supported to access the curriculum, make progress, and develop independence both academically and socially. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND. Support students within mainstream lessons to access learning across a range of subjects. Implement and monitor strategies outlined in EHCPs and support plans. Adapt resources and materials to meet individual learning needs. Assist with behaviour regulation and promote positive engagement. Support students’ social, emotional, and mental health needs. Liaise with teaching staff, SENDCo, parents, and external agencies as required. Promote independence, resilience, and confidence in learners. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 TA). Experience working with secondary-aged students with SEND. Knowledge of a range of needs such as ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH, and speech & language difficulties. Strong behaviour management skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. A calm, patient, and proactive approach. The ability to build positive, professional relationships with young people.
