📍 Cape Canaveral, FL
🕒 Full-time | On-site
About the Organization
Evona is partnered with a VC-backed space infrastructure company pioneering expandable habitat technology for the next generation of human spaceflight.
This team is engineering the inflatable structures that will form part of the next space station and future lunar bases enabling larger, lighter, and more efficient habitats for sustained human presence beyond Earth.
This is foundational technology that will directly support humanity’s return to the Moon and long-term expansion into deep space.
The Role
As a Senior / Principal Manufacturing, Process & Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the manufacturing processes and quality systems behind this technology meet the standards required for human spaceflight and NASA programs.
This is a high-impact, senior role focused on process implementation, quality systems, and compliance (AS9100/ISO)—ensuring these habitats can be built reliably, repeatedly, and to flight-certified standards.
You will work at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and quality, helping translate cutting-edge designs into certifiable, production-ready hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of manufacturing processes and quality systems aligned to AS9100 / ISO standards
- Define and drive process documentation, work instructions, and quality frameworks
- Ensure readiness for NASA contracts and human-rated hardware requirements
- Act as a technical authority on process control, compliance, and manufacturing quality
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure designs meet DFM/DFA and certification requirements
- Lead root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities
- Establish scalable processes for repeatability, traceability, and production readiness
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- Senior/principal-level experience in aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing environments
- Strong experience with AS9100, ISO 9000, or equivalent quality systems
- Background in flight hardware, human-rated systems, or high-reliability products
- Experience implementing manufacturing processes and quality/compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with NASA standards or similar regulatory environments
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a startup environment
Why This Role
- Work on the technology that will help build the next space station and the first long-term lunar habitats
- Be part of a team pioneering how humans live and operate beyond Earth
- Own and shape manufacturing quality and compliance at a critical stage of company growth
- Direct impact on flight hardware that will go to orbit and beyond
