Senior Accountant / Assistant Financial Controller for a Luxury Hotel Group (Hawaii & SE Asia Portfolio) – based on property in Honolulu, Hawaii

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant / Assistant Financial Controller to support the financial operations of a complex comprising two luxury hotel properties in Hawaii. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting strategic financial decision-making.


The successful candidate will report directly to the Financial Controller and play a key role in upholding the financial standards of a recognized luxury hospitality group.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for both hotel properties, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and cost controls to optimize financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a high-performance and collaborative team environment.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Support system implementations, process improvements, and financial reporting enhancements.
  • Collaborate with operational departments to ensure alignment between financial objectives and business activities.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent professional designation strongly preferred).
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience within luxury hotel groups or high-end hospitality environments.
  • Demonstrated experience working in complex, multi-property hotel operations.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and expertise in financial reporting and controls.
  • Proven track record of career stability and professional growth.
  • Prior experience in Hawaii or similar resort destinations preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the United States.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and financial software (hospitality systems experience preferred).
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong accuracy and accountability.
  • Effective leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and multicultural environment.
