Senior Accountant / Assistant Financial Controller for a Luxury Hotel Group (Hawaii & SE Asia Portfolio) – based on property in Honolulu, Hawaii

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant / Assistant Financial Controller to support the financial operations of a complex comprising two luxury hotel properties in Hawaii. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting strategic financial decision-making.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Financial Controller and play a key role in upholding the financial standards of a recognized luxury hospitality group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for both hotel properties, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- Assist the Financial Controller in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and cost controls to optimize financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a high-performance and collaborative team environment.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Support system implementations, process improvements, and financial reporting enhancements.
- Collaborate with operational departments to ensure alignment between financial objectives and business activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent professional designation strongly preferred).
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience within luxury hotel groups or high-end hospitality environments.
- Demonstrated experience working in complex, multi-property hotel operations.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and expertise in financial reporting and controls.
- Proven track record of career stability and professional growth.
- Prior experience in Hawaii or similar resort destinations preferred.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the United States.
