We are looking for a talented Senior Accountant to grow with our team, assist in day-to-day accounting operations, offer excellent customer service to both external and internal stakeholders and embrace our One Team culture. 

 

This position's responsibility is to provide exceptional customer service to our Internal Teams in adherence to our Finance Organization vision and mission.  You will be responsible for preparing, recording, analyzing, and reporting accounting transactions while ensuring the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accounting practices.  The successful candidate will lead system and process improvements related to Finance & Accounting processes to facilitate easier and more efficient outcomes while maintaining appropriate internal controls. In addition, the position will help manage statutory accounting, audit, and tax reporting with outside service providers across our global legal entities including U.S, France, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. 

 

This position reports to our US-based Accounting Manager and has a starting salary of $80,000-$95,000 per year.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • General Accounting  
  • Propose journal entries during month-end and reconcile balance sheet accounts   
  • Assist FP&A Lead in analyzing budget to actual variances and forecasting updates 
  • Perform month-end duties including, but not limited to, running reports at the end of the month, completing processes in the ERP system, and preparing month-end reports 
  • Assist the Accounting Manager in developing and documenting processes.  
  • Support cross-departmental initiatives to develop and implement governance and controls.  
  • Support departmental and companywide operational goals 
  • Compliance and Reporting 
  • Support filing of indirect tax returns including sales, use, and VAT, ensuring data is accurately captured and reported across all entities 
  • Assist with research, report generation, and report publication and occasional project needs 
  • Assist Accounting Manager in statutory audit process working with outside service providers to provide workpapers, statutory reconciliations, and assist in transfer pricing compliance 
  • Assist Finance Leadership in supporting annual audit and tax engagements, communicating with third-party preparers on a frequent basis 
  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities as requested by Supervisor 

Requirements

 

Required: 

  • Must have a minimum of four years of progressive experience in an accounting role 
  • Excellent Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills 
  • Proficiency or willingness to receive training in Epicor ERP, Salesforce, and other Finance applications 
  • Demonstrating flexibility and excellent customer service skills to meet customer needs and remaining agile with the various duties this position requires 
  • Work in teams and build relationships with a focus on proactive communication, work ethics, and integrity 
  • Self-driven individual with an ability to prioritize, multitask and work independently 
  • Work and communicate professionally with all levels of the organization. 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Ability to coordinate and work through various departments and personnel, both in-house and out  
  • Ability to work on the computer most of the day and correspond effectively over the phone 
  • Ability to demonstrate self-leadership  

 

Desired: 

  • Tax experience is preferred such as sales tax, use tax, and/or VAT 
  • Statutory accounting and/or audit experience in a global company with multiple legal entities 

 

 

Other Information 

  • Occasional trips to other StoneAge facilities will be required, including occasional overseas trips   
  • Local travel may be requested in the execution of this role, including to outside service providers 
  • Extended working hours may be needed at peak times or to provide coverage when short-staffed 
  • Participation in Zoom and Microsoft Teams video conference calls will be required 
  • The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment is essential  
  • Requires flexibility and the ability to reprioritize quickly
