Senior Accountant | Distributions | PE-Backed


We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations within a fast-paced, inventory-driven environment. This role offers strong exposure to month-end close, inventory accounting, and cross-functional collaboration with operations and supply chain teams.


Responsibilities:

• Own the full Accounts Payable process, including invoice matching, coding, vendor communication, and timely payment processing

• Support inventory accounting, including reconciliations, landed cost analysis, and inventory adjustments in partnership with operations

• Assist with month-end close by preparing and posting journal entries with proper documentation

• Reconcile cash and bank accounts, investigating and resolving outstanding items

• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations (AP, inventory, accruals, prepaids) and clear reconciling items

• Analyze expense accounts and support accruals in coordination with AP and operational teams

• Maintain fixed asset and capital project records within the ERP system

• Manage prepaid expense schedules and amortization tracking

• Review P&L statements and provide basic variance analysis vs. budget

• Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial data flow across departments

• Support external audit requests and year-end financial reporting

• Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

• Corporate accounting experience with a strong foundation in Accounts Payable

• Exposure to inventory accounting preferred

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment

• Self-starter with a proactive mindset and desire to grow

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy
