Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Tax Accountant at Campbell & Company, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the tax planning and compliance for our clients. This role requires handling complex tax issues, ensuring adherence to tax laws and regulations, and providing expert guidance to optimize our clients' tax positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Preparation and Review: Lead the preparation and meticulous review of complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts, ensuring accuracy and compliance at every step.
- Strategic Financial Oversight: Take charge of the preparation, review, and high-level planning of financial statements. Your expertise will be critical in shaping our client's financial futures by ensuring their financial statements not only meet standards but also align with their long-term goals.
- Staff Mentorship and Support: Provide guidance and mentorship to staff accountants, assisting them in finalizing financial statements. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a collaborative environment that promotes accuracy, learning, and growth within the team.
- Proactive Tax Planning: Engage in forward-thinking tax planning strategies and recommendations that go beyond the basics. You'll proactively identify opportunities to optimize our clients' tax positions, staying ahead of regulatory changes and ensuring they benefit from the most current and effective tax strategies.
- Client Collaboration and Advisory: Build and nurture strong, trusted relationships with our clients. Work closely with them to gather the necessary information, provide insightful advice, and serve as their go-to resource for all tax and financial planning matters.
- Regulatory Compliance Expertise: Stay at the forefront of tax laws and regulations, ensuring that all filings and financial practices are fully compliant. Your knowledge will help safeguard our clients against potential risks and capitalize on new opportunities.
- Audit and Authority Liaison: Play a key role in supporting audits and managing communications with tax authorities. You'll ensure our clients are represented with accuracy, integrity, and professionalism.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's degree preferred).
- Certification: CPA certification or Enrolled Agent (EA) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tax Accountant, with a focus on corporate taxation.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software, particularly UltraTax.
- Experience with QuickBooks is required.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Thomson Reuters CS Prof. Suite / UT
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to handle complex tax situations.
- Independence: Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
