We are seeking a results-driven, hands-on Senior Accountant to lead the accounting functions for Riot Hospitality Group. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in accounting and experience in multi-unit operations, and a mindset for growth, innovation, and continuous improvement. This is a high-impact position role that blends financial rigor with agility, supporting both the executive team and store-level operations. We're searching for a candidate who can:
- Perform a wide variety of accounting functions, including but not limited to journal entries, bank reconciliations, period-end closing procedures, P&L variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and routine treasury activities.
- Lead period-end financial close.
- Assist in the preparation of mid-period and period-end financials and participate in P&L review meetings with operations leadership.
- Assist in tech-driven process improvement efforts to perform tasks more efficiently and effectively.
- Prepare corporate allocations, commissions, and management fees, including timely calculations, invoicing, payment and collection.
- Perform all lease accounting and rent-related tasks, ensuring proper treatment and reporting under ASC 842.
- Prepare and file sales/use tax returns for each location.
- Collaborate with store operations and corporate teams where required and appropriate.
- Provide supporting schedules during financial and tax reviews.
- Various accounting projects and duties as needed.
Requirements
- BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in the restaurant, hospitality, or retail industries.
- Solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
- Knowledge of financial systems (Sage Intacct a plus).
- Intermediate Excel experience required.
- Ability to leverage technology to improve processes and procedures.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing, dynamic environment.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines with a strong attention to detail.
- Proactive, motivated self-starter, with excellent organizational and continuous improvement skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation and informal communication skills.
