Compensation: $80,000-$90,000 based on experience
The Senior Accountant supports the Corporate Controller in preparing accurate and timely financial reports, including financial statements, reconciliations, variance analyses, and ad hoc reporting. This position operates in a fast-paced environment and contributes to departmental goals through strong analytical skills, independent judgment, and adherence to sound accounting practices. The role also assists with audits, fixed asset management, banking activities, and the integration of future acquisitions.
2. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Monthly Close and Reporting Coordinate and participate in the monthly close process, including journal entries for depreciation, payroll, and prepaids
Prepare and update monthly financial reports
Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet and expense accounts
Compile and analyze accounting data to prepare entries for assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses
Research unreconciled balances and reconcile general ledger accounts
Reconcile intercompany receivables and payables across multiple entities
Record banking activity and prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all corporate accounts
Review bank reconciliations to ensure accurate transaction recording
Reconcile and code corporate credit card activity to appropriate general ledger accounts
Maintain fixed asset software and records, including purchases, depreciation, and amortization schedules
Track capital expenditures against budget and maintain CIP, fixed asset, accumulated depreciation, and gain or loss reports
Record and maintain monthly lease schedules and prepare lease payments
Assist with the annual financial audit
Document accounting and control procedures
Recommend financial actions through analysis of accounting options
Address questions regarding accounting procedures by researching policies and regulations
Assist in tracking workers compensation and auto insurance claims
Participate in the integration of future acquisitions
Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
Experience with reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger procedures
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds as needed for files or materials
