Senior Assistant Buyer - Family Swim/OuterwearThe Senior Assistant Buyer supports the daily purchasing of items for a specific divisions sub-category. Reporting directly to the divisions Buyer or Sr. Buyer and working alongside other Sr. Assistant Buyers. Ensure accuracy in the ordering process (Buying) while facilitating communication between vendors and the corresponding buyers.Primary Responsibilities:Build, maintain and analyze reports to support the business (Microstrategy, Item/Color, Hindsight, Buy Plan, Conceptual Plan)Retail Math: understand concepts and impact to business (calculate IMU, selling margin, pricing impact)Understand how financial levers connect to impact business (sales, profit, and inventory metrics)Audits item set-up, approves contentCreates purchase orders/work orders for flagship and storesValidates set and ship dates, and vendor informationCross Functional Collaboration and establish external partnershipsTurns in marketing samples, manages on-time arrival, audit of weekly marketingEnters marketed item in ad tracker, updates store countsConducts digital inventory auditProvides input on pricing determinations and keys pricing and signing for flagship and storesUnderstand impact of change in pricing events (TY vs. LY)Assists Buyer with building assortment plan, category history and market share analysisSet Sells & Fixture Placement: knowledge of fixture capacity, signage guidance, presentation standardsSystems knowledge Excel, EPPFC, RMS Order, RMS Item Inquiry, RMS EcommManagement, Other systems as neededCore Competencies & Accomplishments:College degree or equivalent business experience3+ years retail buying experience; preferably with a large organization in a similar roleRetail planning experience preferredProficient in MS Word and ExcelAbility to recognize, analyze and quantify market trendsResults oriented and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgencyAble to independently organize and prioritize broad workload to meet deadlinesWhat you get:We offer a competitive benefits package including medical/dental/vision, term life insurance, paid vacation/holidays, 401(k) Savings Plan with company match, and an associate discount on JCPenney merchandise.About JCPenney:JCPenney is the shopping destination for diverse, working American families.
