We’re looking for an experienced Senior Associate Construction Observer to join our Construction Management team. This is an opportunity for a seasoned construction professional who takes pride in quality work, values integrity, and enjoys being a trusted resource in the field. If you’re someone who notices the details others miss, confidently navigates complex construction projects, and enjoys mentoring the next generation of construction professionals, we’d like to meet you. What You’ll Do As a Senior Associate Construction Observer, you’ll serve as a key field representative on public and private infrastructure projects, ensuring construction activities are completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with approved plans and specifications. Responsibilities include: Leading construction observation efforts on complex infrastructure projects Monitoring construction activities and documenting project progress Reviewing plans, specifications, contract documents, and construction standards Identifying deficiencies, risks, and non-conforming work, while recommending practical solutions Coordinating with contractors, agencies, project managers, testing laboratories, utility companies, and clients Reviewing inspection reports, testing documentation, and project records Supporting project administration, field issue resolution, and constructability reviews Participating in project meetings and stakeholder coordination efforts Mentoring and developing junior construction observation staff Maintaining accurate, defensible, and organized project documentation Projects may include roadway improvements, utility installations, water and wastewater infrastructure, storm drain systems, public works improvements, transportation projects, and other municipal infrastructure. Who We’re Looking For The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who combines technical expertise with strong communication and leadership skills. You may be a great fit if you: Have experience serving as a lead observer, construction inspector, or field representative Can confidently interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents Exercise sound judgment and make informed field decisions with limited supervision Build productive working relationships with contractors, agencies, and project stakeholders Take ownership of project quality, safety, and compliance Enjoy mentoring and supporting the development of junior staff Thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment Preferred Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of experience in construction observation, public works inspection, municipal construction management, or related civil infrastructure projects Experience with public infrastructure and municipal construction projects Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, standards, and contract compliance Experience reviewing testing reports, inspection results, and quality documentation Familiarity with utility coordination, agency requirements, and regulatory compliance OSHA, ICC, CSI CDT, AGC, HAZWOPER, or related certifications are a plus Why QK?
