Location: New York City, NY (5 Days onsite in a week)

Required Qualifications:

We are seeking a strategic, data-driven Senior Buyer to lead the merchandising and buying strategy for our children's apparel business across our e-commerce and omnichannel platforms.
This role is responsible for developing compelling product assortments that drive sales, maximize profitability, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience buying children's apparel, a strong understanding of digital retail and consumer shopping behavior, and a proven ability to balance trend, quality, pricing, and inventory management. This individual will partner closely with Merchandising, Planning, Design, Marketing, Digital, and Vendor partners to execute seasonal strategies that support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute seasonal buying strategies aligned with company sales, margin,
    and inventory objectives.
  • Analyze sales performance, customer trends, market intelligence, and competitive
    landscape to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Own vendor relationships, including negotiations on pricing, terms, delivery
    schedules, and exclusive product opportunities.
  • Manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) budgets while optimizing inventory productivity and
    turnover.
  • Collaborate with Merchandise Planning to forecast demand, monitor inventory levels,
    and manage in-season business adjustments.
  • Partner with E-commerce, Digital Merchandising, and Marketing teams to optimize
    online assortment presentation, product launches, promotional calendars,
    and customer engagement.
  • Utilize web analytics, conversion metrics, customer insights, and digital
    performance data to refine assortment strategies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including sales, gross margin, sell-through,
    inventory productivity, average order value, and conversion rates.
  • Identify emerging fashion trends, customer preferences, and competitive activity
    within the children's apparel marketplace.
  • Ensure products meet quality, safety, compliance, and brand standards.
