Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in heavy civil construction to join our team in Santa Rosa, CA. The ideal candidate will have expertise in asphalt paving, earthwork/grading, minor concrete demolition, and wet utilities installation. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in our pre-construction phase, responsible for accurately estimating project costs and providing valuable insights to support decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for heavy civil projects, including asphalt paving, earthwork/grading, minor concrete demolition, and wet utilities installation.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to identify scope, materials, and labor requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information and ensure accurate cost estimates.
• Develop comprehensive bid proposals and pricing strategies to win projects while maintaining profitability.
• Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to perform accurate cost calculations and prepare bid documents.
• Stay current with industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure competitive and cost-effective estimates.
• Participate in bid review meetings, negotiations, and presentations with clients and stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating, with a focus on asphalt paving, earthwork/grading, minor concrete demolition, and wet utilities installation.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and contracts.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
• Advanced proficiency in estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, or equivalent.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record of successfully bidding and winning heavy civil construction projects.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
