PROVISIONAL* 12-MONTH
Salary: $48,665 (Prorated for 2023-2024)

Job Description: The Senior Clerk will support Carriage House and the responsibilities of the Special Education Office.
Qualifications:
*Must take and pass the relevant Glen Cove Civil Service examination when first offered and quality for placement on the List of Eligibles
Candidates must be legal residents of Nassau County
Ability to work independently and strong interpersonal skills; excellent organizational, computer and communication skills; experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word), Google Suite, a plus
Graduation from High School or GED; Bilingual preferred
Fingerprinting clearance required
Essential Duties (include, but are not limited to):
Create appointments, respond to and refer telephone calls, compose, and type routine correspondence
Perform clerical tasks, e.g., photocopy, print, fax, assemble information packets
Perform routine checks and comparisons of reports or records for NYSED compliance with specific program requirements for state reporting
Assist with organizing of records, maintaining of Special Education student folders, and other permanent records assigned, while protecting confidentiality of student records and information
Prepare and process Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) due process timelines, e.g., meetings intakes, initials, invitations, evaluations, applications, transportation forms and corresponding items
Plan, maintain filing systems for correspondence and completion of state reports; Assist in processing and submitting office personnel forms
Liaison between school district, parents, Nassau County Department of Health (NCDoH) and NCDoH contracted vendors
Use IEP Frontline-student information system to add, edit and monitor special education students and completion of individual education plans; Use CPSE Portal, i.e., STACs, invoice, billing and amendments; Create individual student file in Frontline and CPSE portal
Support program staff participate in department and program trainings and meetings (on-site and off-site)
Prepare and complete mailing process of student records or correspondence
Communicate effectively and timely with staff and strictly adheres to timelines
Other related duties as assigned by administration
