Job Overview As a Senior Cloud Engineering Task Lead, you will serve as the primary Task Lead managing a team of Cloud Engineers at GDIT, supporting the mission of USCENTCOM on the CITS contract. Your responsibilities include designing, architecting, deploying, and maintaining robust, automated, and secure enterprise cloud solutions for an environment supporting over 5,000 users. Responsibilities Lead, manage, and support a team of Cloud Engineers throughout the full lifecycle of cloud infrastructure. Collaborate closely with cross‑functional DevSecOps teams, cybersecurity professionals, and government stakeholders to implement secure, resilient, and mission‑focused cloud environments. Act as a key interface with third‑party vendors for advanced troubleshooting and solution integration. Drive cloud migration strategies, architectural innovation, and process automation. Resolve complex infrastructure challenges, enhance system performance, and modernize mission‑critical systems. Utilize enterprise cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) by Broadcom, along with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD deployment pipelines to automate and secure the environment. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Science in a relevant technical field (or equivalent experience). Experience: 5+ years of related experience in systems administration and cloud engineering. Certifications: Active DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II or III compliant certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP). Security Clearance: Current active TS/SCI clearance required; US citizenship required. Proven experience serving as a Task Lead. Willingness to support USCENTCOM exercises, with potential for up to 10% travel to OCONUS locations. Core Technical Expertise: Cloud Architecture – expertise in AWS and/or Azure. VMware Cloud Foundation – hands‑on experience deploying and maintaining VCF environments. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – proficiency with Terraform or CloudFormation. DevSecOps & CI/CD – demonstrated experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices. Automation Scripting – advanced skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash. Preferred Qualifications Advanced certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or VMware Certified Professional/Advanced Professional (VCP/VCAP). DoD Cloud Compliance – strong understanding of the CCSRGuide and experience operating within IL5 or IL6 environments. Practical experience with container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift) and hybrid cloud integration. Prior experience supporting USCENTCOM HQ, major combatant commands (COCOMs), or specialized tactical military networks.
