Job Summary The Senior Commercial Manager - Data Analytics is responsible for commercial management oversight across Equinix's portfolio of major expansion construction projects throughout the region. They provide strategic and day‑to‑day leadership specifically focused on driving down construction costs, ensuring internal financial controls and reporting processes, and managing all major contract risks. The role also includes supporting the modernization of our data analytics capabilities and driving our AI transformation, transforming fragmented data and reporting into secure, automated, and insight‑driven analytics platforms. Responsibilities Construction Projects Provides strategic oversight for the planning and monitoring of construction projects from start to completion Monitors the financial close‑out on all projects including settlement of all vendors Reports status, successes, challenges and key activities to senior management Develops, manages and is accountable for achievement of key commercial metrics Drives continuous improvement initiatives and develops best practices Ensures correct level of professional cost management resources are identified, engaged and managed on all regional construction projects Provides cost management advice and support Oversees and provides guidance on commercial change management and change evaluation efforts on all projects Data Analytics & AI Transformation Support modernization of analytics platforms through automation and standardization Support adoption of advanced analytics, intelligent automation, and self‑service reporting to improve efficiency and insight quality Help shape analytics architecture principles that balance scalability, performance, and usability Budget & Reporting Oversees the preparation of budgets (including detailed cost modeling and benchmark analysis) and presents to senior management Monitors adherence against budget throughout the project lifespan, including cost checks and reviews, value engineering and cost‑saving initiatives and evaluation of alternates Utilizes Power BI and related tools for project portfolio cash flow and earned value analysis SQL Queries Reviews project cost reports and carries out regular reviews with senior management Acts as a stage‑gate approver of budgets prior to executive approval Oversees the adherence against company expenditure limits Procurement Provides guidance and assists with the orderly development of requests for proposal leading into procurement for design services agreements, owner‑furnished equipment and general contractor services agreements Guides the overall contracting strategy and signs off on construction contracts Contracts Guides contract policy and ensures audit compliance Advises and intervenes appropriately to resolve major contractual claims and disputes as they arise Risk Management Sets out risk management policy and auditing compliance Proactively leads all commercial risk management efforts including commercial audits, contingency analyses, risk identification and analyses and management training Collaboration Drives global coordination when developing strategies with corporate development, legal, company management, while also managing internal key stakeholders Directly manages a team of Commercial Managers and works closely with other internal project teams of varying levels of seniority Manages the regional Commercial Management team to perform as an industry‑leading function Trains and develops in‑house teams on commercial controls and best practices Trains and develops teams on the creation of Power Apps and creation of AI agents to help commercially manage the GDC portfolio Qualifications Typically 7+ years of professional experience ideally in data center or mission‑critical system design, construction and costing Demonstrated data analytics experience, ideally with Power BI and SQL queries Experience creating Power Apps and automating workflows Bachelor's degree in construction, business, finance or a related field preferred RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) accreditation preferred Pay Range United States – Dallas Infomart Office DAI: 136,000 – 204,000 USD / Annual United States – Redwood City Office GHQ: 163,000 – 245,000 USD / Annual United States – CH1 Chicago: 150,000 – 224,000 USD / Annual United States – New York City Office NYO1: 150,000 – 224,000 USD / Annual United States – Ashburn Office AEO: 150,000 – 224,000 USD / Annual The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs.
