This position owns controls engineering activities from the initial sales and design phases through installation, startup, commissioning, and ongoing customer support. Working closely with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Customers, you'll develop innovative automation solutions while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and program PLC-based automation systemsDevelop software for industrial control systems and machine automationDesign electrical panels and electrical schematicsSpecify electrical components and wiring methodsCommission conveyor systems, machinery, and automation equipmentProvide customer training and post-installation technical supportManage assigned controls engineering subprojectsSupport Sales with technical presentations, application reviews, and project quotationsAssist with conceptual system design and engineering solutionsCollaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project executionTroubleshoot and optimize automation systems during startup and commissioningSupport field installations and customer acceptance testingQualificationsRequiredBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related Engineering disciplineMinimum 5 years of controls engineering experience in industrial automationStrong Allen-Bradley PLC programming experienceExperience designing electrical control systems to NEC, NFPA, UL, and applicable industry standardsExperience with HMI/SCADA developmentExperience with fieldbus communication technologiesKnowledge of industrial electrical panel design and wiringStrong understanding of pneumatics, actuators, and valve systemsExcellent troubleshooting and analytical skillsStrong communication and customer relationship skillsAbility to work independently while managing multiple prioritiesFluent in EnglishPreferredExperience with Siemens, Omron, or Beckhoff PLC platformsExperience with FactoryTalk OptixExperience programming industrial robots (Fanuc, Universal Robots, Omron)Servo motion control programming experienceExperience using AutoDesk CAD and EPLAN Electric P8C++ or Java programming experienceKnowledge of barcode scanners, RFID systems, and industrial sensorsEngineering License or Electrical LicenseBilingual language skillsTravelTravel required approximately 25%–40% to support customer installations, commissioning, startup activities, and onsite technical support.Interested in hearing more?
