Job Description

NOW HIRING: SENIOR CONTROLS ENGINEER

Greater Boston / Southern New Hampshire

Industry: Food & Beverage | General Manufacturing

Employment Type: Full-Time | Senior-Level

Salary Range: $90,000-$125,000 per year, with opportunities to earn additional income through project-based bonuses and performance commissions.

Step Into a High-Impact Role at the Crossroads of Innovation and Production

If you're a seasoned automation professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in solving high-stakes problems, this is your opportunity to lead. We are actively seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to support and enhance controls and automation systems across manufacturing facilities in the Greater Boston and Southern New Hampshire region. You’ll be an essential part of keeping production running safely, smoothly, and smarter — with the autonomy and backing to make real change.

Your Impact:

  • Design and implement PLC, HMI, SCADA, and motion control systems (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Wonderware)

  • Provide 24/7 emergency support on a rotating schedule — including remote diagnostics using platforms like eWON, TeamViewer, and FactoryTalk

  • Travel to regional manufacturing sites to support system commissioning, troubleshooting, and upgrades

  • Own and manage project life cycles from concept to startup — including electrical design, programming, testing, and validation

  • Develop and maintain control panel schematics and electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Production, Maintenance, Quality) to improve process reliability and efficiency

  • Ensure all work complies with food safety (GMP, HACCP) and electrical safety (NFPA 70E, OSHA) standards

  • Train and mentor junior engineers and support staff in automation best practices

What You Bring:

  • Certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field

  • 8+ years of experience in automation and controls — preferably in food, beverage, or general manufacturing environments

  • Deep experience with PLC/HMI programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), SCADA systems, and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profinet)

  • Skilled in remote troubleshooting and diagnostics for urgent support needs

  • Comfortable with on-call, after-hours responsibilities, and quick decision-making under pressure

  • Strong knowledge of control system design, instrumentation, and safety protocols

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills

Why Join Us:

  • Competitive salary + opportunities to earn more!

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance

  • Paid time off + holidays

  • Ongoing training, certifications, and career development

  • A collaborative team that values innovation, speed, and accountability
