Senior Controls Project Engineer

Job Description

Name of Employer: Vanderlande Industries, Inc.

Position Title: Senior Controls Project Engineer

Location: 3054 Chastain Meadows Parkway NW, Marietta, GA 30066

Hours: 40 hours/week

Up to 33% domestic / international travel to unanticipated client sites.

Job Duties:

  • Provide direction in the methods required to configure component level devices
  • Provide direction in the methods required to perform testing in support of PLC/SCADA commissioning
  • Document testing for PLC and SCADA commissioning
  • Monitor and document the progress of subcontractors
  • Provide direction to write commissioning checklist and test plans.
  • Provide direction to write Controls Functional Specification and Description of Operations
  • Write, debug, and test PLC/SCADA code
  • Perform and document integrated system level testing in support of PLC/SCADA commissioning
  • Interface and coordinate with customers, subcontractors to solve issues, and document resolution
  • Lead engineers in the execution of projects
  • Lead the onsite effort to configure, commission, and test systems
  • Monitor internal quality of controls deliverables
  • Lead continuous improvement actions

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Engineering (any), Computer Science, or related field of study; and 4 years in the job offered or any related occupation in which the experience was gained. Employer will also accept a Masters degree in Engineering (any), Computer Science, or related field of study; and 2 years in the job offered or any related occupation in which the experience was gained.

Position also requires demonstrated experience with the following:

  • PLC programs and SCADA systems
  • Electrical Schematics
  • Implementation of material handling systems
  • Ladder logic, Allen-Bradley Systems; Siemens Systems
  • HMI Design, Ignition, Indusoft, Wonderware, FactoryTalk View, WinCC, or WEB factory
  • Electrical design and computer- based drafting and design
  • Providing technical support of Controls hardware and software
  • Electrical controls hardware design, communication networks and 480 VAC / 120VAC / 24VDC power distribution
  • Machine and system safety standards and design considerations
  • VI WoW and PM 2.0
