The Senior Credit Analyst role provides the opportunity to lead credit quality reviews for commercial, commercial real estate and construction loans, manage a small team of analysts, and influence lending decisions through rigorous financial and collateral analysis. This on-site Franklin, MA position is ideal for a candidate who wants to shape credit monitoring, exception management and portfolio-level reporting in a hands-on lending environment. Responsibilities Lead, coach and manage credit analysts; assign work, review deliverables, address performance and ensure accuracy and quality of analyses. Review, analyze and process commercial, commercial real estate and construction loan requests, performing ratio, cash-flow and collateral analyses and recommending credit actions. Prepare financial statement spreadsheets, credit summaries, credit rating memoranda and presentations for loan officers and the Lending Committee. Maintain and manage monitoring and reporting including Loan Exception Reports, Loan Covenant Tracking, Pipeline Reports and ALR Reports, and oversee the renewal/tickler process. Review appraisals, environmental reports, tax returns and customer financial statements; contact credit and financial sources for additional information as needed. Ensure credit extensions align with risk appetite, internal credit policies and exception management guidelines; identify, elevate and monitor exceptions. Develop and implement portfolio reporting and statistical approaches to monitor credit risk, identify trends and forecast potential outcomes. Must-Have Skills Bachelor's degree in business, finance or accounting (or equivalent). Minimum three (3) years of commercial credit analysis experience in financial services. Demonstrated expertise in commercial credit assessment including cash-flow, ratio and collateral analysis. Advanced Excel and spreadsheet modeling and analysis skills. Experience preparing credit rating memoranda and lending committee presentations. Familiarity with loan monitoring and reporting: Loan Exception Reports, Loan Covenant Tracking, ALR and Pipeline reports. Proven supervisory or managerial experience leading analysts or professional staff. Strong verbal and written communication, organizational skills, and ability to interpret loan documents and policies. Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with commercial real estate and construction lending. Professional certifications such as CFA or relevant commercial lending credentials. Experience developing portfolio-level reporting, statistical monitoring and forecasting credit trends. Familiarity with credit administration systems, tickler/renewal workflow tools and lending platforms.
