As the Data Scientist, you will be a partner to the Marketing and Finance teams by providing data-driven insights through ad-hoc analyses, presentations, automated reports and dashboards, experiment design, and advanced statistics research and development. This role will require extensive experience with SQL, data wrangling, statistics, and A/B testing and the ability to work in cross-functional teams to drive practical insights. Experience with user growth and acquisition across consumer products is a plus.
Where you’ll work:This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration three days per week. This position is located in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Palo Alto, CA.
In this role, you will:
Work on specialized ‘advanced analytics’ projects that include but not be limited to:
LTV metric exploration, development, and deployment, specifically in a two-sided marketplace
Incrementally analysis improvements and adaptability
Marketing Mix Modeling / Investment Optimization analyses and tools
Sophisticated forecasting and the development of self-service forecasting tools
Adapt to evolving business dynamics and swiftly adjust task priorities to ensure efficient workflow alignment with changing operational requirements
Be a leader with a point of view for the organization and the team, using data to constantly challenge and reshape our understanding of business performance and trend
Build models to understand the lifetime value better and churn behavior of our users
Find the “story” in the data and communicate insights and opportunities with executive and other internal teams
Be an advisor for other Data Scientists on the Analytics team
Perform ongoing ad-hoc analyses to evaluate the efficiency of our marketing spend, building reporting infrastructure, and assisting in making budgeting recommendations to optimize growth
Support reporting and business intelligence needs of the Marketing team
Provide regular and clear updates on project progress to manager and collaborators
Deliver reporting for key stakeholders on trends, notable updates, and stories
Establish good rapport and collaborate with leadership, stakeholders, and colleagues to ensure that product deliverables satisfy business requirements
You’ll need:
5+ years of professional experience with time series analysis, Causal Inference, forecasting and prediction modeling, and Marketing mix modeling
2+ years of LTV modeling experience
ML experience is a ‘plus’
Previous experience building LTV predictive and econometric models
LTV modeling experience can include: Retention, ratio, or behavioral driven
Ability to develop a nuanced business understanding, testable hypotheses, and meaningful findings from data
3 years of professional experience with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau or Mode) to build tools that surface useful insights, opportunities, and trends for leaders to action on and exploit
3 years of experience in data scripting in Python or R
3 years of experience with A/B testing and sophisticated statistical techniques
