PCTAX9120 Database Administrator Austin, TX 6+ Months Job Description Our Direct Client is seeking an experienced, full-time, on-site, dedicated Candidate, with skills and expertise as described in below requirement. Responsibilities: Supports the installation of database software and migrations to new data management system software levels, and tests the migrations to ensure data reliability and functionality. Analyzes, designs, modifies, and maintains database structures. Designs and implements procedures necessary to save, retrieve, and recover databases from hardware and software failures. Skill Required/Desired Required 5 years - Strong knowledge of database management systems, as well as data warehouse management and decision support tools Required 5 years - Extensive experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of data warehouses and data marts is desired Required 5 years - Experience in business objects and in building the data dictionary Required 5 years - Ability to use data base access tools for application delivery Required 5 years - Strong familiarity with analysis, planning and management reporting functions Required 5 years - Well-developed oral and written communications skills Required 5 years - Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills Required 5 years - Extremely high level of analytical ability where problems are very unusual and extremely difficult Required 5 years - Understanding of benchmarking processes and techniques Required 5 years - Very high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work output Required 5 years - Data Warehousing data population and data modeling techniques for target structures such as Star Schemas, Snowflake Schemas, and highly normalized data models Required 5 years - GUI based ETL tools such as Informatica, IBM WebSphere DataStage, or similar tools. Required 5 years - Implementation experience with enterprise class databases e.g. Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, etc. or similar technologies. Required 5 years - Implementation experience with analytical and reporting tools e.g. Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy or similar tools. Required 5 years - Experience with data warehouse implementation process, from business requirements through logical modeling, physical database design, data sourcing and data transformation, data loading. Required 5 years - Structured Query Language (SQL), end-user tools, database and SQL performance tuning. Required 5 years - Implementation experience with analytical and reporting tools e.g. Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy or similar tools.
