A leading engineering and automation firm is seeking a Senior DeltaV Engineer to join its team in Raleigh, NC. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in Emerson DeltaV systems, particularly within regulated Life Sciences environments. The position involves leading the design, implementation, and management of large-scale automation projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering high-performance solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and deployment of DeltaV control systems for complex capital projects in the Life Sciences sectorDevelop project schedules, manage budgets, and coordinate resources to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveryArchitect control strategies and batch sequencing using ISA-88 standards to optimize production and regulatory complianceDesign and configure DeltaV graphics using DeltaV Live and Operate, following ISA-101 HMI guidelinesApply class-based configuration methods to promote scalability and standardizationSpecify and integrate instrumentation, control panels, and industrial networking solutions (Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus)Oversee system integration with third-party equipment using OPC UA, Modbus, and other protocolsDefine and implement computing infrastructure, including server architecture, virtualization, and cybersecurityManage the full project lifecycle from requirements gathering through commissioning and validationEnsure compliance with GAMP5, cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and other regulatory standardsLead Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT)Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teamsTravel up to 25% for site support and client engagementQualifications8-15 years of hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV systemsProficiency in DeltaV Live and Operate, with strong HMI design skillsDeep understanding of ISA-88 and ISA-101 standardsProven experience managing large-scale automation projects in regulated environmentsStrong knowledge of industrial communication protocols and networkingFamiliarity with electrical design, including MCCs, VFDs, and power distributionExperience with server infrastructure and virtualization technologiesKnowledge of additional platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Ignition, or Siemens PCS7 is a plusEducationBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Chemical Engineering, or a related fieldWork EnvironmentOffice-based with occasional on-site commissioning and supportMay require occasional lifting, climbing, and extended hours during critical project phasesCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary range: $120,000 - $180,000, based on experienceDiscretionary bonus and employee ownership programComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and more
