Growing Food company is looking for a Remote Senior Director, Supply Chain Operations (Remote with travel).

This is a remote role with my client and will have 50% domestic travel involved.

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Director of Supply Chain Operations plays a pivotal role in securing raw material availability, stabilizing pricing, and optimizing logistics and warehousing operations. This role encompasses sourcing and procurement in collaboration with the Purchasing team and Plant Management, aiming for operational excellence and strategic material management.

NOTE: This is a Remote (work from home) role with approx. 50% domestic travel included. Must be able to travel to sites in:

  • Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania
  • Vandergrift, Pennsylvania
  • New Haven, Connecticut
  • California

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:

  • Manages all demand and supply planning, sourcing, and procurement, including supplier relationships domestically and internationally.
  • Develops procurement policies, control systems, and performance measurement systems to reduce costs, improve quality, and reduce supply risk.
  • Manages the RFQ process to build strategic vendor partnerships and attain cost and quality improvements.

Strategic Logistics & Warehousing:

  • Develops warehousing and transportation solutions to streamline the supply chain and reduce overall costs.
  • Works closely with vendors to ensure product availability based on sales forecasting and demand planning.

Strategic Material Management:

  • Establishes inventory strategies to achieve management objectives for targeted service levels and minimize supply/supplier risks.

Risk Management:

  • Delivers year-over-year cost reductions within inbound and outbound supply chains through continuous improvement projects.
  • Monitors market changes and trends for purchased commodities and drives needed procurement changes and decisions proactively.
  • Assures compliance regulations are followed in all aspects of the supply chain.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Coaches, develops, and directs teammates in planning, forecasting, and purchasing functions, as well as their direct reports.

Travel to facilities:

  • Approx 50% travel to Northeast (Connecticut, Pennsylvania) and also some travel to California.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • BA/BS in Business, Supply Chain, or other related field
  • 6-8 years of experience in negotiations and people management.
  • Manufacturing industry experience required. Food manufacturing preferred.
  • APICS certification a plus.
  • Procurement, Logistics/Warehousing, Material Management, Risk Management, Purchasing experience is needed.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively.
  • Must be able to do domestic travel to sites in: CT, PA, and CA. This is a remote role with travel included.
