Lead E&I Designer Electrical & Instrumentation | AED About the Position The Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Designer will manage a team tasked with developing design documents and drawings required for the execution of the electrical and /or instrumentation projects. Technical KnowledgeExperience in the development of electrical drawings and documents that include one-line drawings, power plans, hazard classification maps, cable routing (cable tray/raceways), cable and conduit schedules, grounding, and lighting plans (including photometric studies)A strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry design standardsKnowledge in the development of control system drawings such as control system architectures, IO card schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagramsKnowledge in the development of instrumentation drawings and documents such as IO lists, instrument lists, installation details, instrument locations drawings, wiring diagrams, and loop sheetsKnowledge in developing complete electrical, instrumentation, and controls drawing packages as part of construction packages QualificationsElectrical & Instrumentation experience managing designers (minimum fifteen years)Petrochemical refinery/chemical/ pipeline industry experienceHigh School diplomaProficient at AutoCADAbility to work in 3D software environments a plusField construction coordination and commissioning/startup experience is a plusTWIC card required (or ability to obtain) Non-Technical SkillsExperience leading a project team, including interdisciplinary coordinationSignificant experience interfacing with clientsAbility to work in heavy industrial environmentsAbility to optimize designExperience developing and understanding project scope, schedule and budgetAttention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prioritize own and others’ tasks by frequency and importanceCoach & mentor designers
