Senior Electrical Design EngineerAn established consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design delivery while overseeing junior team members and supporting project and commercial management activities.This role combines hands-on technical design, team leadership, and client engagement. The successful candidate will manage projects from concept through to completion, ensuring delivery in line with programme and budget requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesLead electrical design across a variety of project sectors.Oversee and mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.Deliver full design packages including specifications, drawings, schedules, calculations, and cost estimates.Manage projects in line with company procedures, programme, and budget.Monitor design team costs and contribute to financial reporting.Assist with fee assessments and preparation of bid submissions.Liaise directly with clients and attend project meetings.Conduct site surveys and produce technical reports.Carry out quality inspections and ensure compliance with standards.Use CAD and BIM systems in accordance with internal standards.Monitor and manage financial aspects of projects.Contribute to the development of internal electrical standards.Support business development and client relationship growth.Experience RequiredProven experience within a building services consultancy or contractor design environment.Project management of multi-disciplinary building services projects.Production of detailed specifications and design calculations (manual and software-based).Preparation of tender packages and tender analysis.Development of budget costings for building services.On-site project management experience.Production of condition and survey reports.Direct client liaison and stakeholder management.Management and mentoring of junior staff.Experience undertaking site surveys across the UK.Technical KnowledgeCurrent Building Regulations, particularly energy-related controls.CIBSE GuidesIET (IEE) Wiring RegulationsCDM RegulationsBritish StandardsUK BIM and Revit standardsProject ExposureEducationResidential developmentsCommercial buildingsHealthcareCondition and acquisition surveysContract administrationQualificationsHNC, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.Software ProficiencyMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel)AutoCADRevit (BIM)Microsoft ProjectHevacompAmtechDialux EvoPersonal AttributesAmbitious and self-motivatedStrong team playerComfortable working in a collaborative consultancy environmentCapable of managing both design responsibilities and team leadership
