Senior Electrical Engineer Apply
Position Description
The Senior Electrical Engineer is the senior Electrical Engineer on projects from idea to construction management. Performs design work, creates construction papers, and, where possible, assign design chores to younger engineers. Review shop drawings, react to RFIs, and work through issues with contractors in the field.
Essential Functions:
Creates electrical construction drawings, including details, plans, sections, and elevations, in compliance with established standards and rules.
Conducts engineering calculations, including electrical load and energy calculations.
Designs electrical, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
Actively participates in design conversations and translates concepts into project drawings.
Chooses electrical equipment.
Creates construction documentation with AutoCAD and Revit.
Analyzes and makes timely, cost-effective decisions.
Coordinates workers and consultants to create detailed designs and drawings. Understand the coding needs, client obligations, and contractual requirements.
Manages construction projects, ensuring compliance with contract documents, resolving issues, evaluating modification requests, and monitoring progress.
Reviews, organizes, and assembles project documents and drawings to enable efficient production flow.
Responds to client inquiries and issues promptly and thoroughly.
Research and evaluate building performance and requirements. Conduct more critical engineering research as needed.
Fosters a strong and professional relationship with clients to ensure a long-term relationship and offers necessary client education throughout the project.
Requires business development skills to represent the firm and engage in marketing activities such as bids and client presentations.
Led design discussions and implemented sustainable techniques from idea to project drawings.
Position Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Medium voltage power distribution design experience preferred.
A minimum of 10 years' experience.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
Design experience including power distribution, lighting/lighting controls, fire alarm systems and other special systems for a variety of building types.
Well versed in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of International Building Code and National Electric Code.
