About the Job

We are looking for an experienced, well-rounded, and technically astute Senior Electrical Estimator who is well-oriented in the Baltimore/Washington Marketplace for commercial construction. This professional will join our Client Team and contribute to our continued success.

We seek a leader with 5-10 years of electrical estimating experience, covering projects of all sizes, including schools, hospitals, and federal work. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of excellence and a passion for the electrical industry. This role demands an estimator who is dedicated to quality standards, effective relationship building, and mentoring project leaders and team members.

Job Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct all estimating functions, including budget development, cost tracking, and project support.

  • Develop and implement department standards and procedures.

  • Review final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Maintain the company estimating database.

  • Provide leadership by managing department activities, mentoring staff, and encouraging professional growth.

  • Manage estimates and ensure accurate project cost projections.

  • Review bid requests and proposals, ensuring completeness and competitiveness.

  • Prepare and manage the weekly bid calendar.

  • Attend job walks and report critical differences between job drawings and bid requirements.

  • Prepare bid summaries and review estimates with Estimators, Project Managers, and Executives.

  • Analyze project estimates against completed projects to improve future forecasting accuracy.

  • Track and report weekly updates on ongoing estimates.

  • Develop and conduct estimating training sessions.

  • Maintain confidentiality of department activities.

  • Organize and maintain all estimate-related files.

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of electrical estimating experience.
Preferred Background: Field experience as an electrician or a degree in Construction Management.
Technical Expertise:

  • Extensive experience using estimating software.

  • Strong ability to conceptually estimate electrical construction projects.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical construction industry best practices.

  • Understanding of all types of drawings and technical specifications.

  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code, fire alarm, and other systems.
    Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills and a solid statistical background.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and estimating software.
