Base Salary - USD $195,000 to $205,000

Security Clearance Required: Yes

Interview Travel Reimbursed - Yes

Role and Position Objectives:

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Software, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience.

Alternatively, a Master's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.

Leadership Expectations:

Demonstrated experience in managing development and production programs, including budget, cost, and schedule oversight.

Proven ability in people management and day-to-day leadership.

Clearance Requirements:

Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance within a reasonable timeframe.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Technical Guidance:

Lead the engineering group in designing, testing, and providing production support for Department of Defense weapon systems.

Establish and uphold engineering competency standards to support weapon system engineering processes.

Contribute technically to engineering tasks and manage a mid-sized engineering department.

Program Collaboration:

Partner with Program Managers, Chief Engineers, and program engineering leads for architecture, design, and technology decisions.

Ensure accurate requirements analysis, system development, and proper verification/validation plans.

Facilitate resolution of issues and recommend solutions to meet system performance requirements.

Management Role (~20%):

Oversee functional groups (Systems Engineering, Integration & Test, Electrical, Software, Mechanical Engineering, and Configuration/Data Management).

Manage staff recruitment, training, career development, performance management, and employee transitions.

Program Tasking (~80%):

Contribute to engineering design or test development depending on the program phase.

Lead proposal efforts, including technical strategy and cost estimation.

Support research and development strategies and business growth opportunities.

Skills and Experiences:

Engineering Expertise

10 15 years of experience in complex DoD or related embedded electronics programs.

Hands-on experience in engineering within the past 4 years.

Team Leadership:

Build and lead a high-performing weapon systems engineering team.

Foster accountability and improve quality, delivery speed, and productivity.

Technical Excellence:

Deliver engineering artifacts, development models, low-rate production units, and test equipment.

Actively develop and manage risk mitigation plans.

Innovation and Collaboration:

Drive new technology initiatives and cross-program collaboration.

Ensure proactive program engagement and innovative solutions to mission challenges.

Operational Management:

Set objectives, delegate assignments, and establish performance measures.

Review senior management business objectives for operational success.
