Job Title Senior Expert, Technical Services, C&ES Preferred Location Fort Lauderdale, USA (Americas) Responsibilities Analyse and propose solutions for complex technical problems, and provide recommendations in reports. Report related work progress to relevant stakeholders. Propose improvement needs of products and solutions to internal stakeholders; participate as area representative in product developments and improvement projects. Develop new working methods within the area of responsibility. Propose product improvements for Other‑OEM products. Provide timely and quality technical support to internal and external customers; visit sites when deeper product, system, or performance analysis is needed. Participate and lead technical site audits to improve external and internal (CM) customer installation’s efficiency and availability. Provide quality leads to the Sales organization to improve Wärtsila’s and customer’s business. Act as trainer in a special expertise area, including performing training and developing training programs and materials. Analyse field experience and customer feedback data to improve products, solutions, and operation and maintenance of installations. Support in technical matters when new products or components are developed and launched; maintain relationships with cooperation partners. Propose content for technical information products (e.g., Service Bulletins). Support less experienced technical experts and participate in customer and/or vendor meetings as a technical expert when complex technical matters are handled. Acquire know‑how and keep up with the latest global development trends of gas engines and Wärtsila products in general. Qualifications BSc Engineering or Electrical degree, or equivalent preferred. Substantial experience with Power Plant Electrical systems (5+ years preferred). Knowledge of Wärtsila ways of working and business. Knowledge in the following areas considered an advantage: PLC programming (Schneider and Siemens), HMI programming (WOIS, sWOIS), Electrical system design.
