General Definition of Work
Performs difficult work overseeing and participating in the preparation and processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue, budget, audit, financial reporting and Account statement interpretation. Reports to the Finance Director, and assists the County Administrator, Deputy Clerk, and Human Resources Director with Financial Analysis, decision making, and reporting.

Essential Functions
- Verifies and reviews invoices, check requests and purchase order invoices, and reconciles Accounts Payable and General Ledger.
- Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling/analyzing accounts.
- Post General Ledger Journal Entries, and maintain capital asset schedules.
- Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and quarterly financial statements.
- Assist with financial audit by analyzing and preparing check registers, billing registers, trial balance reports, and general ledger reports.
- Enters a variety of information into the financial system; distributes and files monthly reports; assists with journal entry budget preparation.
- Prepares and distributes 1099’s and other IRS forms as required.
- Work with Financial Director, County Administrator, Human Resource Director, Accounting Staff, and Department Heads to meet accounting requirements and ensure deadlines are met.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); thorough knowledge of bookkeeping terminology, methods, procedures and equipment; general knowledge of standard office procedures, practices and equipment; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; ability to perform mathematical computations with speed and accuracy; competent in computer operations and relevant software programs; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors and the general public.
