JOB SUMMARY

As part of the CFO and executive management support team, the Senior Financial Analyst must have strong teamwork, planning, analytical, problem-solving abilities, and presentation / communication skills. Duties include P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reporting, analysis and projections, and ad hoc financial & business analysis to support sales & earnings growth objectives of the enterprise. Responsible for providing strategic analysis and decision support to senior management, contributing to the forecast and budget-setting process, and tracking business results and cash flows. Analyzes sales & financial data by line of business portfolio to identify growth opportunities for further investment and/or cost savings/efficiency. May provide Treasury related reporting & analysis support. Also provides cross-training to the Operations Analyst, AR & Collections Coordinator, Purchasing Coordinator, and Accounting department’s staff accountants.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs financial analysis and modeling; as well as implements, maintains, and leverages scalable FP&A systems and processes at the enterprise level.
  • Work closely with senior management to develop and implement reporting tools, including but not limited to a weekly and/or monthly ownership report.
  • Analyzing, interpreting and communicating cost and expense variances to senior management.
  • Assists CFO and in the development of financial plans and budgets.
  • Coordinate, with Sales & Operations leadership input, the overall annual operations budget process working cross-functionally.
  • Coordinate the annual P&L budgets & forecast updates for separate lines of business and cost centers.
  • Work closely with senior management to enhance KPIs and develop operational reports to further help plant management and employees understand plant activities and drivers.
  • Supporting the Accounting Manager with special projects & analysis, including but not limited to:

- Assistance with monthly / quarterly bank covenant compliance reporting

- Evaluating borrowing structures to ensure competive funding costs

- Evaluating credit risk; developing strategies to reduce exposure to write-offs

- Maintaining the daily cash receipts and disbursements model

- Maintaining the weekly treasury reporting model

- Maintaining the quarterly grower finance / payment model

- Maintaining the annual export sales related IC-DISC calculation

  • Analyze, develop, and continually verify costing models and process costs including or overhead allocations according to accounting procedures.
  • Analyzing financial results, helping the Operations Analyst to define various product and operational costs (e.g. variable vs fixed and direct vs indirect) preparing reports, and monitoring variances.
  • Help further develop the Crop Throw analysis to expand financial understanding of the current crop potential.
  • Review plant department operational forecasts and budget performance.
  • Assume other ad hoc finance / analytically related tasks as assigned.



Requirements:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Will occasionally stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, taste and smell.
  • Will frequently sit and occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel crouch or crawl.
  • Must use both hands for rapid mental muscular coordination simultaneously.
  • Must be able to reach high and low levels, frequently.
  • Must be able to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level up to 30 pounds frequently.
  • Must lift with arms up to floor to waist, waist to shoulder 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to continually stand/stoop/walk/bend, up to 12 hrs.
  • Ability to strenuous flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently (15 flexions/minute).
  • Use of keyboard and mouse for an extended period.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • May work near moving mechanical parts.
  • May work around wet or humid conditions, in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (non-weather), extreme heat (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, and/or risk of vibration.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS


1.Excellent cross-functional leadership and organizational skills.

2.Analytical and creative thinking / problem-solving ability.

3.Strong written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

4.Advanced knowledge of FP&A software solutions, MS Excel, SAGE accounting, sales & operations databases, and/or similar scalable IT data management applications.

5.Customer-oriented approach with aptitude for technical support and solutions.

6.6-10 years of relevant experience; BS/BA in finance, accounting, business management & economics or relevant field and/or experience required, preferably in an agricultural related business.
