A Day in the Life of the Financial Systems Analyst III
In this role, you’ll provide critical financial management support to help guide budgeting, forecasting, and program decision-making. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to analyze financial data, assess program performance, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Your insights and recommendations will directly contribute to effective resource allocation and mission success.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide financial management support across departments, branches, or programs
- Assist in the preparation and evaluation of annual budgets
- Analyze budget proposals for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to evaluate financial requests and funding options
- Monitor and track budgets, costs, and variances across multiple funding sources
- Research economic and financial trends impacting organizational spending
- Develop and implement budget guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Coordinate financial activities across cross-functional stakeholders
- Prepare executive summaries and detailed financial reports
- Deliver financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making
- Develop courses of action (COAs) to address financial challenges
- Interpret and apply financial management principles, regulations, and policies
- Conduct training sessions on financial and budget procedures as needed
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of financial management processes, policies, and regulations
- Experience working with multiple funding types and complex budgets
- Ability to analyze financial data and present actionable insights
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
- Must have an active secret clearance
