Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Data Analyst to support federal financial data integration and reporting initiatives. The selected candidate will provide subject matter expertise in federal financial systems, general ledger accounting, and data analysis, ensuring accurate financial data integration between systems such as Momentum and the Department of Treasury's Administrative Resources Center (ARC).
This role is critical in maintaining data integrity, supporting audit readiness, and ensuring compliance with federal financial reporting standards. The Senior Financial Data Analyst will collaborate closely with data engineers, product owners, and key stakeholders to define requirements, validate data flows, and enhance the quality of financial data reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and document financial data flows between client and external systems.
- Collaborate with data engineers and product owners to define and refine financial data integration requirements.
- Review and validate financial datasets and reports to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Conduct testing and quality assurance on financial data pipelines and integrations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on federal financial systems, general ledger structures, and financial reporting processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal financial reporting standards, audit requirements, and data governance policies.
- Translate complex financial and accounting concepts into actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to project documentation, best practices, and continuous improvement of financial data processes.
- Support initiatives focused on financial transparency, data quality, and performance reporting across federal programs.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with federal financial systems, including Momentum, Oracle Federal Financials, or the Department of Treasury's ARC shared services.
- Strong understanding of federal general ledger accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with federal financial data standards and audit processes.
- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting structured financial datasets using MS Excel and/or Power BI.
- Proven ability to communicate complex financial data and accounting concepts effectively to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple data analysis tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Public Administration (required; advanced degree preferred).
- Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Prior consulting experience supporting federal clients is highly desirable.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams on data integration and reporting modernization projects.
- Existing Public Trust or government security clearance preferred.
