JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Market Business Financial Officer (BFO) will be responsible for financial strategy and analysis within a highly complex and regulated Medicare Advantage business. The financial analysis lead analyst will manage one or more of the micro-markets within the Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic markets, which includes a broad portfolio of products and provider risk arrangements. The skill sets needed to manage this wide spectrum of responsibility will be inclusive of Agility, Influential leadership, Drive for results.


This Micromarket BFO role will oversee financial strategy, planning & analysis for Medicare Advantage. They will drive the annual bid strategy process balancing growth and profitability and will be responsible for leading the markets financial reporting, analysis, and business support through a strong collaborative relationship. The candidate will be responsible for partnering with their respective Market President and a large group of matrix partners.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in development and drive execution of the Markets multiyear growth strategy

  • Partner with the market to drive the highly complex Medicare annual bid process, appropriately balancing enterprise expectations related to growth and profitability

  • Leveraging data and insights from internal and external sources to influence business partners on actions that improve affordability and marketability of Medicare Advantage plans

  • Analyze and explain variances vs expectations for KPIs and market financials

  • Develops strong partnerships across a highly matrixed, cross functional business team to drive outcomes

  • Present to primary care providers on key performance indicators related to their incentive pay arrangements

  • Support value-based and fee-for-service contract modeling

  • Assist in evaluation and planning of geographic expansion activities


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economic, Analytics, Actuarial Science, Accounting, or other related field

  • 2+ years of extensive experience in Healthcare, Financial Analysis, or related area

  • Superior financial skills, with ability to understand complex products and their relevant levers to improve profitability

  • Ability to communicate with Senior Leaders on both technical and non-technical aspects of the business

  • Capacity to find alternatives and solutions as well as identify problems

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational abilities


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 73,800 - 123,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
