Limited Term - This position may be extended, ended early, or become permanent.

Under the general direction of the Clean California Program Director, and as part of the statewide team committed to delivering on the commitments of the Clean California (CC) Program, the incumbent is responsible for the delivery of the Clean California transformative enhancement projects on the State Highway System and will ensure that these projects are completed within approved cost, scope, and schedule; manage all Clean California program activities, schedule and progress, and deliverables.

Provides close communication between Headquarters and assigned Districts and regions; technical guidance and expertise on the Clean California Beautification Program; independently prepares written reports, and recommendations for program project improvements; and provides input to other functional areas of the Department in support of Clean California Delivery.
The incumbent will support delivery of Clean California projects and will coordinate directly with stakeholders to promote a consistent and collaborative approach to meeting the goals of the Clean California Program.
The incumbent will represent Caltrans to engage with internal and external stakeholders to assure transparency and to encourage engagement opportunities.
The incumbent will conduct technical research, prepare engineering reports, develop spread sheets, and perform other duties related to the Clean California program.
The incumbent must possess valid certification of registration as a landscape architect issued by the California Architects Board or civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.

The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs.

Working Conditions

Position located in Sacramento, Sacramento County

This is a Limited Term position which may be extended to 24 months or become permanent.

While at their base of operation, the incumbent will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting.
Due to periodic problems with heating and air conditioning, the building temperature may fluctuate.
The environment is fast paced, demanding and busy; and requires considerable flexibility in managing time, priorities and assignments.
The incumbent must be willing to work outside normal working hours as needed.
The incumbent is required to travel periodically within the state (federal and state offices, district offices, local agencies, etc.
) to office buildings and indoor/outdoor field locations.
While at field locations, the incumbent may be exposed to uneven surfaces, noise, and varying climate conditions.

New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
