Senior Linux Administrator Apply
Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Linux Administrator to join our team. This role covers installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Linux and Windows-based systems in a secure environment. The candidate will possess a Security+ certification and an active Top Secret clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility . Experience with Special Access Programs (SAP) within the last three years is highly desirable. This role is an in-person role co-located with our government customer’s organization at WPAFB. Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain servers and workstations. Perform system hardening and security audits to ensure compliance with established security policies. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls. Implement and maintain system backups and disaster recovery procedures. Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement. Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Ansible, Bash, Python). Collaborate with other IT staff to ensure system stability and availability. Provide technical support to end-users. Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in systems administration. Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and procedures. Qualifications – Required CompTIA Security+ Certification Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility Working knowledge of Windows server administration Experience with system monitoring and performance tuning Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python preferred) Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills 6+ years of experience administering Linux systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) Qualifications – Preferred Experience with Special Access Programs (SAP) within the last 3 years Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM) Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) RHCSA Certification Linux+ Certification 12+ years of relevant IT experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR 10+ years of relevant IT experience and a Master’s degree in a related field Travel Occasional travel may be required.
